Worked collaboratively to

1. Update our unit on the Native American and Native American literature

-modified our existing myth creation assignment to make it accessible for the Macbooks

-students will write an Native American myth and create a book in iPhoto

2. Discussed ideas for use of the Macbooks to support our exisiting Immigration and poetry unit

     -use of wordle.com

-use of Preview program (students can write text/create poems) on primary source photos

English only

1. Worked to create an iWeb page to introduce the Banned Book unit

2. Explored the possibility of using iWeb's blog feature for student responses during the Banned Books unit

3. Learned how to use the Don Johnston software to support reading and writing in the classroom.

Social Studies only

1. Generated ideas for using Preview program, Stickies and iWeb on the Macs

-Preview: I can write questions directly on a primary source and student can view the image online to answer the question

-Students can use colored stickies to answer questions posed by an online reading

-Student will use the iWeb blog page to respond to discussion questions

2. Created an iWeb for my Reconstruction unit. Students will be guided through several online activities:

-students will be able to analyze primary sources about this time period online

-students will participate in a problem solving activity about rebuilding the South.

During the 2009-2010 school year, I used the Macbooks to

1. access learning support materials online (short film clips, articles, images)

2. enhance my 1920s unit.  I worked collaboratively with the English teacher on the creation of podcasts modeled after 1920s radio shows.

3. allow students to participate in a wiki discussion about the Civil Rights movement

4. have students create webpages about the Civil Rights movie with iWeb
